During the shoot I got annoyed because the weather was so humid that day it made my hair hard to control. It kept bugging me to the point where I got it into my head that my hair looked absolutely ridiculous and that I was gonna screw this up for the photographer. It totally fucked with my confidence. Looking back now, it seems so insignificant to worry about something as trivial. Moral of the story, trust in others and let the work speak for itself.
In my hands was a dried up California buckwheat. Native to the Southwestern states it can be found along California’s coasts, as well as Mojave Desert.
In earlier times The Zuni Tribe used it in a mix of powdered root and applied it to cuts and arrow or bullet wounds. it was also used to treat headache and digestive issues.
Who knew a dried up plant could contain so much history.
